The 2022 Washington State legislative session kicked off this week. 2022 is a short, 60-day, session, but with state revenues exceeding projections, and with more than $1 billion in federal COVID aid still left to allocate, there are a lot of opportunities to advocate for new cradle to career investments.
The Graduate Tacoma Advocacy Network held its first legislative session check-in meeting this week, and the next GTAN check-in is scheduled for Wednesday, January 19, from 9:00-9:30am. You can register for the full series of weekly check-in meetings through the end of the legislative session by clicking HERE.
Additionally, here are two resources that we hope will be helpful to you as we sift through the early developments of the 2022 State Legislative Session.
- The Foundation for Tacoma Students Bill Tracker is our internal reference point for all bills that have been filed that pertain to cradle to career issues. This tool will be updated regularly.
- The GTAN Slack is our brand new shared workspace. Within the Slack there is a channel for the 2022 Legislative Session, and we anticipate most of the action will be there for the next two months.
