DESCRIPTION:Pierce College will be hosting its 2nd annual ASPIRE Summit on Saturday\, February 23\, 2019\, on our Pierce College Fort Steilacoom Campus. Join us for interactive workshops for 8-12 grade students\, parents\, and educators. DESCRIPTION:YGB utilizes African American history and culture in such a way that motivates and empowers attendees to take control of their future. The purpose of this conference is to promote positive self-esteem\, social consciousness\, and cultural awareness\, while simultaneously emphasizing the importance of higher education. We hope that the workshops and interactions with current African American UW students\, staff\, and faculty and the community will provide both the resources and role models to help students make a commitment to pursue higher education. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the UW and discover all the possibilities awaiting. \nTarget Group: African American high school students with a 3.0 or higher GPA \nAdditional Information: YGB is FREE!
