DESCRIPTION:Calling All Young Native Womxn Leaders! \nThe 2024 Ambassador application is open to Native American/Alaska Native womxn aged 21-26. This is a unique opportunity for young womxn to travel to four (4) national Native conferences a year (one per quarter)\, all expenses paid. The Ambassador will travel with Native Action Network (NAN) Board of Directors or staff\, be exposed to unique leadership opportunities\, and build networks that will last a lifetime. Priority is given to Washington State residents\, but all are encouraged to apply. \nELIGIBILITY: \nNAN recognizes that gender is both fluid and expansive\, and embracing those who identify as two-spirit\, trans women\, and genderqueer. DESCRIPTION:Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) educate roughly 1 in 10 Black college students\, and have a better track record than most predominantly white institutions (PWIs) of helping individuals from the bottom 40% of the income ladder advance to the top 60%. Joshua Etienne and Jonathan Lewis from uAspire will discuss some of the conflicting research about HBCUs and share a list of specific institutions that uAspire recommends as financially safer options. Proposition 1 is a $650 million bond measure maturing over a maximum of 25 years. \nProp. 1 would replace or renovate 11 aging neighborhood schools. It would also provide basic improvements across the school district; expand quality learning and teaching environments; and make health\, safety and security upgrades. \nProp.  1 also invests in our neighborhood schools\, benefiting the entire community by making sure children receive the best education in the safest environments we can give them. \nEvery vote counts.
