Announcing Community Learning Fund Subgrantees

The Foundation for Tacoma Students is thrilled to announce 38 subgrantees to the Graduate Tacoma Community Learning Fund!

This is the first investment of its kind by the Foundation, with approximately $1M in total to be subgranted over the course of 2020. The following organizations will receive funding to build their work and collective action in one of three investment areas: Community Partner Capacity & Capability, Data Capacity & Capability, Postsecondary Access & Completion.

This group will convene for the first time in February as the Community Learning Fund Cohort, where organizational leaders will discuss the Fund’s Shared Learning Agenda and steps towards closing racial and economic disparities for Tacoma’s future generation. As a subgrantee they are committed to two learnings:

  1. We will increase our understanding of the various types of equity impacting young people in Tacoma.
  2. We will increase our understanding of the ways that practices, policies and behaviors influence systems change.
