Teachers are most often a young person’s closest source of opportunity and future success. By connecting additional resources to students and teachers, the Graduate Tacoma movement lifts up the daily classroom experience to inspire and recognize the potential of every student.
The Teacher Impact Awards were instituted in 2015 to support the creative ways teachers boost student achievement every day.
To date, 83 Teacher Impact Awards have been granted, totalling $85,000. Award-winning teachers have reached 14,536 students with innovative, effective programs, tools, and curriculum that help close gaps in opportunity, access and achievement.
