If “Proposition 1: Neighborhood School Improvements & Safety Upgrades” is approved by voters, the increased cost to the average Tacoma homeowner will be about $7.50 per month or $90 a year. Proposition 1 is a $650 million bond measure maturing over a maximum of 25 years.
Prop. 1 would replace or renovate 11 aging neighborhood schools. It would also provide basic improvements across the school district; expand quality learning and teaching environments; and make health, safety and security upgrades.
Prop. 1 also invests in our neighborhood schools, benefiting the entire community by making sure children receive the best education in the safest environments we can give them.
