The Graduate Tacoma movement is built on the collaboration, partnership, and the strength of community to reach Tacoma youth when and where they need us. With expansive school closures and particular strain on local industry due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Foundation for Tacoma Students is here to support community members and the partners who make up the Graduate Tacoma movement to the fullest extent that we can — and in a way that multiplies our collective impact.
We recognize that our community partners are already evaluating their own plans of action to provide uninterrupted service to youth and families, to bridge the gap for parents and caregivers where resources are strained, and support local nonprofits and businesses whose operations are undergoing extreme disruption. As the backbone to the Graduate Tacoma community-wide movement, the Foundation is in a position to help coordinate services and connect organizations during this stressful time.
Please help us begin this coordination by providing your feedback to one or both of the following forms.
ASSESSING COMMUNITY NEEDS
We understand that statewide school closures will mean a critical loss in instructional time, and disruption in vital services for parents who rely on student meals and in-class time during work hours. We also recognize there is still much we do not know regarding the impact on local industry as restrictions are mandated. Tell us what you’re hearing!

IDENTIFYING COMMUNITY STRENGTHS
Please let us know if you’re an organization, business, or individual with time, resources, or skills to lend in this moment of crisis. We anticipate that the community needs will span many different things. If your organization is already taking action, please let us know that as well, so that we can help spread the word or pair your efforts with other outreach happening in town.

We know that not all needs or resources may be matched. At this particular time, the Foundation is focusing its efforts on understanding the full extent of COVID-19’s impact on Tacoma. If you have questions or would like to contact us directly about one of the above actions we are taking, please feel free to email Cecilia Garza, the Foundation’s Director of Communications, directly at cgarza@graduatetacoma.org.
